From experience to innovation: our founder’s story

Tristan Wilson

Founder & CEO

Our Founder and CEO, Tristan Wilson, worked his way up the ladder at Allan Myers and his family’s former business Barriere Construction before starting Edgevanta. He spent his career estimating and building highway construction work, realizing that the key to winning work lies not just in calculating one's own costs but many other factors.

Tristan experienced firsthand the pain and difficulty of trying to be the lowest bidder while also avoiding leaving money on the table. As an estimator on his first major bid, he left an embarrassing 33% on the table on a $2.1 million job. The process was marred by a lack of tools, reliance on intuition, and cumbersome spreadsheets.

There were numerous contractors out there striving to improve their bidding process, hit rates, and margins but lacking the means to do so. Motivated by this pressing need, Tristan started Edgevanta in 2022 in Nashville. Our software helps contractors win more work at the right price.
